No fields of red poppies?
Hi. There’s a very pretty five-petalled pink flower with a habit and size a bit like that of the chicory, i.e. Rather sprawling with flowers growing on thin but branched stems, and it is in flower now at the top of our road. We are in the Montmoreau area, but I have seen it growing all along the roadside by the railway near Chalais and elsewhere round here, so not uncommon. I’ve looked on umpteen wild flower sites on the internet but can’t identify it. Any ideas please?
Maybe a type of Mallow… but can you send me a photo and then I will be able to have a better go at it ….alan.waterman1@btopenworld.com
Yes, I will send a photo as soon as I can get out – when the pouring rain stops here!
