This is about my garden in France….. garden? Can I call it that?
I gather it has been a little damp in Poitou-Charentes recently. Comments on face book have been somewhat disparaging about the French weather and then we saw an article on the TV about the effects on tourism of the wonderful Spring.
However on a more personal note, we have been in the UK for the last 8 weeks and so have not been part of the French weather, but now we are back we have inherited its legacy. So here are some photos of our garden and the lawn.
It is now a wildflower meadow… The average height is about 60/70cm rising to over 100cm in places. The dominant flowers are Buttercups and Cow parsley with a good selection of grasses all about to come into flower.
Yesterday we went to Blanchard Motoculture in Civray and purchased a fairly meaty Stihl FS 56 Strimmer and now I have cut back most of the vegetation but still have the daunting task of raking it up and gathering it into a mini Haystack.
