La Peupleraie, is a 2 star hotel just north of Abbville on Route National 1 at a place called Namport.
We stayed there on Friday night, 30th March 2012, it was a good place to break your journey, if you are travelling from the UK to Poitou-Charentes or returning to GB. We have found that whilst it is quite possible to travel all the way to this area, in one hit, the cost of toll roads can be off set by booking into a hotel and taking a more leisurely journey avoiding most of the toll roads, certainly at leat as far as Tours. Especially this is the case if you are not travelling out for a short break but are staying for an extended period so that speed of arrival is not so important.
This hotel was good value for a 2 star. The bed room was en suite with a bath/shower, but was fairly minimalistic. The bed was comfortable and there was a TV but that was about it. Still if you only want a place to sleep, then who needs any more.
The restaurant was quite good, not expensive but choice was limited. However what we had was good. Breakfast again was nothing fancy, coffee, or tea or chocolate. We had coffee and it was good, then there was one glass of orange juice, yogurt, croissants, bread and toast with jams, honey and butter. It was all I wanted. The staff were pleasant so I would recommend this place as a good inexpensive place to stay that is about one hour south of Calais.
The hotel is close to the coast and to the world war one cemeteries, they also cater for large groups.
